Description
Allantoin is a natural compound found in plants, and can be synthetically produced to be identical to its natural form. It is a moisturizer, protector, and stimulator of cell regeneration, and is often used in skin creams and lotions. Allantoin is water soluble and has a pH of 3.5-6.5. It can be used in concentrations of 0.5-2%, and should be blended in well during the cool down phase of a formulation.
Essentially Natural Allantoin is naturally found in plants (e.g. comfrey root) and produced synthetically in the lab to be nature identical for commercial use. It is a white, odorless powder that is often used in skincare and cosmetic products, because of its ability to promote cell regeneration and healthy tissue production.
Why we love it: Allantoin is known for having both anti-inflammatory and skin healing properties, so it actively helps to soften, protect and soothe the skin. Because Allantoin is so gentle, it is often included in lotions, creams and ointments.
